The City in the Sky
Before you read my post, please watch this video:
Due to the fact that, if you’re a massive BioShock fan like me, your jaw might be hitting the floor and receptors in your brain might be going haywire (like me), I’ll go a little slow for you.
If you never played the first BioShock, it took place in the underwater city of Rapture in the 1950′s, a secret city where the worlds greatest minds were brought to carry out their great work without government, religion and the mediocre to hold them back. It was a fantastic game with great atmosphere, fun gameplay and a fantastic story. BioShock 2 was very good in its own way, but the atmosphere was gone and didn’t feel as scary because we have already been there. This is the main reason I’m excited for BioShock Infinite, which leaves the dreary, claustrophobic and dark halls of Rapture for the flying city of Columbia.
The game takes place in 1912, 40 years before Rapture was founded. Irrational Games, the developer, didn’t say if they shared a universe.Unlike the secret construction of Rapture, the USA proudly boasted Columbia calling it a “flying World’s Fair”. However, they did not know the city is heavily armed, and it is lost in a currently unexplained national incident that causes it to be lost in the clouds. You control Booker DeWitt, a Pinkerton agent, who might or might not be the person in the trailer. He knows where the city is, and is sent to rescue a person named Elizabeth (the attractive woman in the video), who has been imprisoned in Columbia since childhood.
My favourite part of the video (and the most mysterious) is the steampunk-Big Daddy (or the Steam Daddy). We only see his hand and the throbbing human heart. I love how it looks and I can’t wait to see more of it.
I can’t wait to see more of this game. It is #1 on my most anticipating list, as I can’t wait to see more of this game and what the new game engine can do. Expect more on this game as more is revealed. BioShock Infinite is slated for release in the 4th quarter of 2012.

My game boner is so huge right now! Have you seen the gameplay trailer? Amazing.
